The day on which you say your final farewell to a loved one is like no other. The way in which you do so can, and should, be meaningful, comforting to the bereaved, and a distinctive celebration of the life that is ended. It should also be a unique farewell, which respects the wishes and reflects the beliefs of the person who has died.My role as an independent funeral celebrant is to work closely with families and loved ones to help create a heartfelt service, that celebrates and give thanks for the life which has ended – and which can become a source of comfort to them on the path ahead.
I decided to train as a funeral celebrant after devising and conducting the funeral services of both my parents. I know that our very personal, final farewells would have met with their approval – and knowing that has provided lasting comfort and inspiration.
I also provide a planning service for those families who wish to conduct their own services and do not require a celebrant at the service, and for people - at any stage of life - who want to set out their funeral wishes as part of putting their affairs in order for peace of mind.
