I was attracted to the courses by the title "Best Practice In Modern Funeral Directing". Having attended the course I can confirm that the course lives up to its title. As a funeral director in an independent family owned business I have witnessed for myself changing attitudes and expectations in families of the bereaved. Families are obviously frustrated by some of the more intractable formalities that are placed upon them. I believe that I have benefited greatly from attending the course and have reviewed significantly the way that I carry out funerals."

Our courses, Funeral Arranger and Care And Management Of The Body, form the core of the funeral director training we provide.
For just 8 students, this hands-on course by the award winning Angie McLachlan and Green Fuse has to be the nearest to working with a body you can get, without an actual body. Angie built Ichabod, a fully articulated body with catheter, stoma bag, venn flows and a bit of a pong! With our focus on how to look after the dead with care and attention, respect and ritual, we follow Ichabod on his journey from the point of death to his final resting place. Angie teaches not only the most fundamental tasks when caring for the dead, but how to gain confidence and practical skills in managing and repairing damaged tissue. Taking place in our funeral home, we have devised the course to give you the best possible knowledge of how to safely manage a great many mortuary situations, with lots of information on health and safety issues. Please note: this is not an embalming course.
