green fuse aims to provide both the public and funeral professionals with the information and skills they need to help them to create funerals that reflect the life, values and beliefs of the person who has died, and to improve the relevance and standard of funerals in the UK. A funeral can be something moving and memorable, something to cherish.
We provide funeral directing, undertaking and funeral celebrancy to families in Devon and funeral training in celebrancy and arranging nationwide.

Jane Morrell founded green fuse in 1999 and Simon Smith moved from a supportive to a full time role in 2005.
Jane's and Simon's passion for improving family's experiences of funerals is rooted in their own personal experiences of the deaths of close family members. Jane was excluded from attending her father's funeral when she was ten, which has had an enormous impact on her life, and when Simon's wife died in her early forties he needed to arrange a funeral for her. Jane trained in nursing and later horticulture, in funeral celebrancy with Welfare State International and in ritual with Malidoma and Sobonfu Some. Both Jane and Simon have trained in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy. Simon's careers have included being a professional trainer, coach and leadership consultant.
Jane and Simon also founded and run the New Bereavement & Funeral Trust, a registered charity, which trains health, social and bereavement care professionals to inform and support patients and families with funerals at the time they need it.
Simon has graduated in the Foundation Degree In Funeral Services at Bath University, the highest level of qualification in the funeral industry. Jane and Simon are authors of We Need To Talk About The Funeral - 101 Practical Ways To Commemorate And Celebrate A Life, a guide based on their work with families.
