Jane Morrell founded green fuse in 1999.
Jane's and Simon's passion for improving family's experiences of funerals is rooted in their own personal experiences of the deaths of close family members. Jane was excluded from attending her father's funeral when she was ten, which has had an enormous impact on her life, and when Simon's wife died in her early forties he needed to arrange a funeral for her. Jane trained in nursing and later horticulture, in funeral celebrancy with Welfare State International and in ritual with Malidoma and Sobonfu Some. Both Jane and Simon have trained in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy.
Simon's careers have included being a professional trainer, coach and leadership consultant. They also founded and run the New Bereavement & Funeral Trust (www.nbft.org.uk), a registered charity, which trains health, social and bereavement care professionals to inform and support patients and families with funerals at the time they need it.
Simon has graduated in the Foundation Degree In Funeral Services at Bath University, the highest level of qualification in the funeral industry. Together they train funeral celebrants and funeral arrangers across the UK, to give families support and information to find their own way to say farewell.
Jane and Simon are authors of We Need To Talk About The Funeral - 101 Practical Ways To Commemorate And Celebrate A Life, a guide based on their work with families.
